Seven Random Thoughts on a Monday
Happy Update
Disclaimer: Monday morning, June 8.
Before I go into contract drafting mode for a few hours, I’m sitting on my couch, listening to 1980s music and writing whatever comes to mind here on Substack, most likely accompanied by random and chaotic AI photographs of giant chickens and a shark Elvis.
For the record, I am not sure whether this semi-chaotic literary intermission will be of any quality or value to anyone; the vast majority of you should probably run away now.
Still here? OK, here we go!
Thought 1 - Heaven
I just spent a month in Rome, Italy, and watched near zero political news from the United States the entire time.
No CNN, no MSNBC, no Fox News. No President, no Congress, no left, no right, no middle, no nothing … I turned all of it into the equivalent of Charlie Brown’s mom for 30 days, and focused on spending quality time with i miei amici.
Was it nice to step away from toxic discourse for a while?
No.
It was GREAT. A gift from God.
Highly recommend to everybody. A+++
Peace.
Thought 2 - FIFA World Cup
I’m looking forward to watching as many FIFA World Cup games as possible. I’ll be rooting for the USA and Japan unless and until they get knocked out; then I’ll root for everybody or whatever.
Item of note: Italy is not in the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Again.
How is this even possible?
Actually, I know how this is possible, I’ve had long discussions about this with soccer experts in Italy, it has to do with the vast number of foreign players allowed to play in Serie A, among other things. Long story.
But still, WTF? No Italy? Come on….
Thought 3 - Awesome!
I have joined the faculty of the University of San Francisco School of Law.
I will teach entertainment law this fall. #awesome
Thought 4 - The Documentary
Once upon a time, a woman lost most of her family in a horrible accident.
Congress got involved, laws got passed.
A small film was planned.
Then things changed in Detroit and Washington DC.
Filmmakers stood up. Not on our watch.
We are working hard to announce a new documentary film that will save lives and change laws. And cause quite a ruckus, perhaps.
Thought 5 - 1980s Music
Let the historical record show that I have little to no interest in 99.77% of all pop songs written or recorded after the year 1989.
hehe.
Thought 6 - La Vita Dolce
I am about to announce a strategic alliance with one of Italy's top entertainment law firms. More soon!
Thought 7 - Roma Scene 7
In May 2026, I added a TON of new content to Roma Scene 7, at least 30 new articles and photo essays.
If you enjoy Italy, you have to visit Roma Scene 7, where you will find pics and videos unlike any other!

Kicking Ass .... congrats :-)
