Tuesday morning, LA time.
I rarely comment on events in the Middle East. The reason is I have never been there; I don’t know a lot about the region, and quite frankly, my interests lie in other areas of the world, such as Italy and Japan — no offense to anyone.
And even though a number of my colleagues and clients are convinced I am Jewish, and they send me cards and best wishes every Jewish holiday, which is nice — I am Roman Catholic (surprise! :) Accordingly, for me to add my voice to a debate about the conflict between Israel and Iran is not of great informative value.
BUT … I will say one thing about the region today, because it is obvious.
Based on the sudden movements of the US military assets over the last 24 hours, and the actions and words of President Trump, I think the United States is about to enter the war with Iran. Without hours, not weeks.
The commentators who suggest this is a ploy to bring Iran back to the negotiating table are dead wrong. There will be no more negotiations with this regime.
This is not my view or wishes, I am not advocating for or against anything. I am simply saying, by all appearances, the war with Iran is about to get much bigger, and it will happen in the coming hours.
I will let the experts decide if this is good or bad in the scheme of the universe, but regardless of our thoughts and wishes, it’s happening. I could be totally wrong, maybe there will be some sort of miracle happy ending to this movie — but the writing is on the wall, right in front of us.
Seatbelts on.
If this happens, say a prayer for US pilots, may they all come home.
